Questions people ask first

What does an extension cost here?

Usually £2,800 to £3,500 per square metre for a single-storey extension, plus 10 to 15% for design and approvals. The site visit gets you a fixed number.

Is the price really fixed?

Yes. You get a fixed price in writing before we start. It only changes if you change the job, and every change is priced and signed before we do it.

What if you finish late?

We pay you £150 for every week past the date in the contract. It has happened twice in our last 30 jobs, and each one is in our record with the reason.

Who will be on site?

Steve Pearce, our site manager, every day, on every job. His mobile number is in your contract.

Do you handle drawings and planning?

Yes. Jo does the drawings, the planning application and building control, so one firm is responsible from the first sketch to the last snag.

Are you insured, and is the work guaranteed?

FMB member, TrustMark registered, and every job carries a 10-year insurance-backed warranty (illustrative). Certificates come with your quote.
